“In general, lens and camera take me back to a childhood.”

“I remember my grandfather’s Kodak Polaroid, with which he often took shots of different moments. Also I loved watching through my grandfather’s binoculars – I was observing streets, houses, cars and pedestrians from the 7th floor. Sadly, one day, when I was looking at the yard through the binoculars, I saw a dead boy. In the future, I am eager to capture exactly the same shot and scene in my own film.

When I was 10 years old, I was gifted an Olympus (point and shoot) film camera. Independently from my family, during a ballet tour, I travelled to Prague and photographed a foreign city and friends.  Then, I started shooting videos. I was shooting what was happening around me via phone and digital camera.  I took this activity more seriously at the age of 14, when I prepared a photo-video project for school on the topic of IDPs from Abkhazia.

After that, I changed my mind about my career many times, but eventually I went back to my childhood and chose cinematography as a career.”
