Nika Ergemlidze’s photo “Red Semi-Sweet”, theme – Red.

“This photo was taken at Lake Shaori (locals often refer to it “Bullseye”). Autumn in Racha has always been a special time for me. I have a village there, and during this year, I’m always trying to get out of the noisy city. A visit to Shaori reservoir always causes nostalgic emotions in me. During one of those visits, I met an elderly fisherman. He was observing us for a little while and then started to approach the lake. It was at this moment when I took a photo. You know, as if he had visited us and shared a beautiful evening with us. I have been invited to drink Khvanchkara in Racha before, but never to watch the sunset at Shaori. The beach was covered with enormous stones, the golden sunset was sharing its last rays with the blue lake, and the final collapse of colors – a red strip, looked like red wine poured onto a white table cover.  If the perception of the photo is a journey, it finds the beginning at exactly this point.”
