Description

Berika Beridze’s photo “Tree Alone”, theme – Black and White.

“I am a biology PhD student in Poland. I have been working on my thesis since 2019 in a small town Kornik where I used to live for the first two years. When the pandemic started, I was unable to return home immediately. Far away from my girlfriend, family and relatives, unable to see them and confused with the faith of the world, I found my sanctuary in photography. This alone-standing tree reminds me of my existential condition of that time: the perseverance of an individual standing alone in the surroundings of total uncertainty.”

Photo was taken with film camera, in May 2020.
